Eclectic Ellapu

Gosh another month gone and its that DAY later this month - I hope you're all prepared!

I have been busy making things for gifts, some food stuffs and some more interesting things like this mirror!

Another example of the jigsaw puzzle pieces but these are much larger and the mirror is 12 inch square so it does come out big enough to hang on the wall! I have made three of these and I hope the recipients like them!

I have used some different elements on these pieces, some diecuts, some laser cuts, letters some moulded images and of course a whole mix of of paint and media to colour, I was going with a loose sea them (with the odd quirk thrown in!).

A Special Christmas Card

There is a little boy in Maine who has terminal cancer - he is 9 years old and his wish is to receive handmade Christmas cards - he may not see Christmas so everyone is sending him cards now; I was just so touched by this story I had to send a card!
I used this fabulous image that I received from Kit and Clowder, I am told it is drawn by Kit and Clowder and I absolutely love it, I wanted a simple card suitable for a child that wouldn't cost an arm and leg to post from UK.
I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and added some lavender Stickles to the stars for a little sparkle.
I was please with the finished card and hope the little boy will like it too!

Colour Challenge

We have a new colour challenge started today at the Outlawz and this week we have an inspirational challenge chosen by Kimberly -isn't this just perfect!

I could just see me sat on those benches enjoying the beautiful colour and crisp air so this is what I came up with!

Christmas ....

I have been playing with this digi for quite a while and I finally got it coloured up! I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils then mounted it on a deep purple pearlised card and made a frame of snowflakes. I am please with how it turned out and may well colour this one again - it is such an adorable image!

Festive Fridays

We have another challenge running at the Outlawz Festive Fridays, we give you four fun themes to choose from and there's always a Christmas theme!
So this week I combined two of the themes - bare trees and Christmas - here's what I made

Its a shame the glitter doesn't show on the trees but they are cut from glitter card!

Outlawz Progressive Challenge

OMGoodness - time flies! It seems yesterday that I was posting the October challenge and here we are into November!!
Last month we had the wonderful General Store from Createful Heart as our progressive image and this month we have an amazing image from our very own Shell Becker, Harvest Night.
I had so much fun colouring this image, I used my Polychromos pencils with a touch of white gel pen!

Such an amazing image and I really hope I did it justice!

Anything Goes at Eclectic Ellapu!

Yes the new challenge has started and it is "Anything Goes" - everyone loves this one!
So for my project I have made a mixed media picture frame. I love to make these jig saw puzzle frames as you can put so much detail in each piece and use so many mediums and techniques.
The frame measures 8" x 8" and is a nice box frame that I found in Wilco.

I used a wide range of paints, mica's and relief pastes to create this - I also added a few charms and pretty's here and there!

Colour Challenge

Quick post today! We have a new challenge starting today and this week it is a fun tic tac toe!

It is the last week of the month so this will be the last chance to win some gorgeous digis from FabrikaFantasy!

This week I used the Christmas Fairy - isn't she gorgeous! I coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils and used the right row down as my inspiration!

Colour Challenge

That has to be the best image! I coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils and used some driftwood paper for the background. The cute ribbon I got in Lidl a couple of years ago!

Outlawz Colour Challenge

Well this is the first post on my new blog! WELCOME!!!
Today saw a new colour challenge and this week it was chosen by Kimberly and this is what she chose:

Now for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere this is how life is at the moment with the leaves changing hue and lots of leaves to kick around!
Those in the Southern Hemisphere are coming into spring so this may be an alien theme for them at the moment!

I used the cute image called 'Autumn Owlet' it also comes with a coloured image so definitely a bargain!

I coloured the image up with my Polychromos Pencils which are my passion at the moment, Copics are left on the desk! The background card is actually a wood effect but it doesn't show too well in the photo! I cut some autumn leaves with various dies I have - I do think this little chap is adorable!
